EmpowHer is a community-connected experiential learning program for young women between the ages of 20-29 to increase civic engagement and develop community leaders in the Peel region. Apply now for our final fall cohort.

This Free 10-week Civic Engagement Program is coordinated by The Centre for Education and Training and funded by the Government of Canada under the Canada Service Corps program.

Program Goals:

  • Increase civic engagement of female youth who will contribute to making a difference in their communities through multiple service opportunities while gaining project management, leadership and employability training

  • Improve social outcomes for young women by increasing their connections and capacity of the volunteer sector through community awareness and promotion of female volunteerism

  • Ensure community members and stakeholders within Peel region support the benefits of youth led service and recognize the importance of youth engagement

Program Components:

  • 2-weeks of customized training in Project Management, Leadership and Employability Skills

  • Volunteer Events and Community Service Opportunities over an 8-week period

  • One-One Life Skills Coaching and Career Planning

 We are now accepting submissions to join our fall cohort taking place September 16-27 2019, write in and tell us why you think you are a good fit to participate in the EmpowHer program in a paragraph. EmpowHer will be hosting orientations for the fall session September 5th and 9th at 10.30am at 50 Burnhamthorpe Road West, Suite 300, ON L5B 3C3. Contact us to register to attend.
